SERVICES
The Perry SWCD offers many services to the landowners and residents of Perry County.
TOURS
The Perry SWCD can offer many tours to showcase the natural beauty and assets of Perry County. Whether it is offering Try It Days for the paddling sports (Kayak, Canoes, Stand Up Paddle Boards), taking an interpretive hike at the Glenford Fort, or visiting the Perry County Gun Club for outdoor fun, Perry SWCD can assist you on your adventures.
EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS
There are many educational programs that the District offers to formal and informal educators, boy and girl scout troops, home school groups, and any other groups that are interested. Programs on soil, water quality, ecosystems, interpretive hikes, and more can be requested.
KAYAK/CANOE/SUP SAFETY CLASSES
Perry SWCD offers kayak, canoe, and stand up paddle board safety classes. There are certified instructors that can show you the dos and don'ts of any of these disciplines so your experience on the water is a safe and pleasurable experience.
SALES PROGRAM
The SWCD offers several items for sale to assist landowners.
Marking Flags - $10/bundle of 100
Topographic Maps (7.5" quads) - $8.00
Fish Sale - once a year during the spring (Fender's Fish Hatchery)
Tree Sale - once a year during the spring.
TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE
The Natural Resources Conservation Service provides many areas of technical assistance for landowners (agriculture and forestry). For more information on cost share programs and technical work they can provide contact the NRCS.
